Forgive the intrusion at this most ungodly hour but I couldn't help but notice the segment you posted earlier alongside your brother. I must confess, I fear the same sort of travesty unfolded within my realm in regards to these...deities.
text;
like any good teen, though, she's awake at nine pm, and she looks over it before she types out a response. ]
You're forgiven; we're both awake at the hour.
Could you tell me more of what happened? You are not the first to draw a comparison, but the first to speak of another false deity on your world.
no subject
Speaking as a father, somehow that doesn't surprise me.
[ He jokes before getting to the source of the matter. It takes him a moment to find the right words but eventually he does. ]
It would seem that your realm of Eorzea is not that different from Eos.
[ She might recognize that name considering her brother's scholarly pursuits. Not about the world, he knows but about a little fairy bearing the same name. ]
The Six have ruled over Eos since antiquity under the stewardship of the Draconian, also known as Bahamut, ever since the death of our Goddess over the lived long years. During their rule, a great malady struck Eos in the form of the Starscourge, a dreadful disease that brought great sickness and despair across our realm.
In need of succor, Bahamut christened an ancestor hailing from my royal line to act as their "Chosen King" to bring an end to the blight.
Through unforeseen events and great tragedy, the Gods betrayed them and in turn unleashed a great calamity that would soon haunt the rest of house until the end of my days.
The Gods then sought to bless my family with guardianship of the Crystal in hopes of having us purge the darkness from their celestial realm. Such events halted the spread of the Starscourge for a time but not without grave consequences.
Is such a tale commonplace within your realm of false gods? If so, I beseech you to speak honestly and true.

no subject
I can't say I've messaged someone in error yet.
But I do know it's quite a common occurrence...
Trying to text your beau?
no subject
sometimes it's like i never even typed it myself
which um
that's probably what happened?
i wouldn't ever text anybody that
[ He'd just send them nudes instead. ]
god im sorry im running ffxiv between this
Don't these things learn from how you type normally?
no subject
or used to
but uh... nah
that was just me
sorry if you didn't find it as cool as i did
no subject
It's more that it was being sent to me from you. Not that you aren't attractive, just it seemed things were... awkward.
no subject
was it the married thing or the girlfriend thing?
no subject
I suppose it was because I was .. evaluating it? To see what my former self found attractive, though our experiences differed.
no subject
sorry this probably seems really weird for you
i'm kinda used to people forgetting about me and then showing up again
first time i don't remember someone else so...
[ Too serious. Too serious. ]
anyway
what'd you come up with?
no subject
Well. You are cute, and kind, and joke a lot but not too much so you are quite pleasant to converse with. It is easy to see how I could have fallen for you.
no subject
eventually anyway
[ Because he's had to deal with stuff like that for over a year. ]
thanks i guess?
i can see it too
why i liked you a lot i mean
you're super fun and really pretty
no subject
either way calling her pretty makes her flustered, not that prompto can see. ]
Thank you as well, then. I usually hear that I am more 'cranky' than anything.
I would not be adverse to getting to know you again, though.
[ wow that sounds so nice alisaie /sarcasm. ]
no subject
Why he's trying for smooth he has no idea. ]
yeah me too
wanna hang out?
what kinda stuff do you like doing for fun??
no subject
I would certainly enjoy hanging out!
Well, I enjoy physical activities like running, fishing, sparring and such. I also enjoy reading and sweets.
[ sweets is a whole "activity". ]
I haven't had much time to do any of that back home, though.
no subject
huh
well can't say i'm super good at lots of those things
my bestie loves fishing though
and i really like to run usually in the morning
maybe we could explore and grab something to eat?
must be some stuff here neither of us have seen before :)
no subject
[ prompto you smooth operator even she knows that's a date. ]
I would be happy to. There is plenty here that still confounds me, after all. It'd be nice to have someone to talk about it with.
no subject
but i don't really mind cuz people i know are into em
cool uh
wanna meet up in a little while?
bet we can find plenty of stuff to talk about too
no subject
That's sounds lovely. Where would you like to meet?
no subject
we can meet there and head out when we're ready
[ But he sends his address just in case... ]
no subject
[ she sends her address out in kind, but; ]
Let's meet at the weird fox fountain?
[ which is where she'll be about 15 minutes later. she's chosen a pair of black leggings with a pair of red shorts over them, and a red t-shirt. she's completed the ensemble by picking up her tan fur-lined jacket from norvrandt. ]
no subject
see you soon ✌️
[ Which means he has a handful of minutes to fuss pointlessly over his hair – it's never not going to look swept up unless he decides to never style it – and figure out what kind of clothes to put on. The usual stuff? Some trendy pair of skinny jeans with a weird design and a plain tee he tucks into the front. None of that matters since he's wearing a coat, but if they get in somewhere warm...
When he spots her at the fountain, Prompto smiles and waves before shoving his hands into his pockets. ]
Hey. [ A pause. ] Ready to go? Figured we could pick a direction and just follow our feet.
no subject
That sounds like a plan to me.
[ she taps the top of one foot against the ground before she points to the left. ]
Let's start there, then. I haven't had much chance to wander that way.
no subject
Cool. [ His grin is relaxed. ] Did you wanna find some place to eat first or just get into trouble right away?
[ That's supposed to be a joke, but #yolo. ]
no subject
at his question, though, her expression lights up a bit, and she laughs. she's heard a bit about the lower district, and while alphinaud may fuss, she still wants to see what it's like. ]
It's hard to get into trouble on an empty stomach, isn't it.
[ she's clearly teasing, but food is on her mind now. she starts to head out that way, only pausing to wait for prompto to follow. ]
Have any suggestions?
no subject
into being a millennial. ]Uh, well... I haven't eaten at a lot of places around here so I guess whatever catches your eye?
[ Never mind the getting into trouble bit because they're bound to find something after they eat. Prompto reaches out to grab her hand, gently trying to steer her in a direction towards some place that might have dumplings or... Hm. ]
What's your favorite thing to eat?
no subject
My favorite thing to eat is sweets, but I realize that does not a meal make.
[ she gives a little laugh. ]
I was fond of the dishes in Kugane - which I've learned here are from somewhere called Japan? So Japanese food. But I'll try anything; where I grew up, food was not considered particularly important and it was very bland.
no subject
I mean, you could totally make a meal out of sweets. Just gotta add some other stuff in there too.
[ Which would, in all honesty, probably disgust Ignis if he knew, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. Prompto hums. ]
Not too familiar with Japanese food or wherever Kugane is, but I'm sure we can find something like that. Oh – let's go this way! [ He pulls her along, deciding to take a chance and duck into the closest place down an alley. ] If you don't like it, we can go somewhere else.
no subject
[ or any responsible adult, really. when he tugs them towards a spot, she follows after a moment, looking at the name. ]
"Dairyu's Dumplings"? It sounds interesting enough. [ she chuckles after a moment. ]
Who's to say even if I do like it I won't want to try something else either?
no subject
there is undeniably some similarities to stories in their realm. ]
You hail from Izunia's realm, correct? He spoke too of Bahamut. The one from our land, Eorzea, is a false god. Dragonkind have existed for millenia, and one lost her partner to a war. Foul beings known as Ascians offered her a means with which to resurrect him - only it was a false revival, an empty shell of her lover filled with nothing but hate, a being we call a Primal.
This false Bahumut was so powerful he enthralled all around him, and an ancient civilization known as Allag sealed him in a moon, which we knew as Dalamud. A woman named Nael van Darnus became obsessed with Dalamud after those selfsame Ascians told her the truth of it, and brought down the moon, freeing Bahamut. My grandfather gave his own life to protect Eorzea, and even he was not immune from Bahamut's control. My brother and I, and the warrior of light, had to put an end to both my Grandfather's primal form, Nael, and Bahamut himself.
... But it is the Ascians that lie themselves to blame at the root of that great story.
They entice men and kings with power and eternal life, in the name of causing chaos for their own primal, Zodiark. They seek his resurrection.
So while a tale such as yours does not exist in its entirety, parts of it do - men entrusted with secrets of the Ascians, men who are betrayed by the Ascians and betray others in their name. There was an entire religion founded on false lies that the Ascians sought to empower as well.
no subject
I see you've spoken with the former Chancellor of Niflheim, Ardyn Izunia.
[Just writing that bastard's alias makes him wroth.]
I would advise you not to take his words with much sincerity since Izunia finds sport in putting would-be allies against each other. I certainly have him to thank for the fall of Lucis.
[That's the only warning Alisaie will get at this moment and time.]
The Ascians you speak of certainly sound as fiendish as Bahamut himself but I cannot find it within myself to blame all of the deities for following in his wake. Between the Star Scourage and the Empire's march for conquest, my realm of Eos would be all but doomed if it wasn't for the Draconian's prophecy.
no subject
[ she doesn't know that regis is noctis' father, however. ]
Aye. It could be argued that knowing the source of the Ascian's pain, one might find their plan understandable as well. It's become known to us that originally our star was one part of a whole, that was sundered apart millenia ago. The ascians seek to rejoin the fourteen shards of said star and have succeeded in six. But it comes at the cost of thousands of innocent lives.
I understand their actions but cannot excuse them.
no subject
I had feared Ardyn's tall-tales would sway any judgment of our world and the Crowned Prince. I'm grateful to know my son has been making his presence known.
[ Well, now she does! Say hello to Noctis' kingly father, Alisaie. ]
Often does the currency for peace seems to be in innocent lives. I have my misgivings about such deeds as well but what of these deities here?
I wonder if they feel the same.
no subject
[ eugh, emet-selch. however, she's a little surprised to realize that noctis' father is on lunatia as well, though her regard for kingly figures is less than her brother. she focuses on the subject at hand for now. ]
I do not hold any care for the so-called deities here. However, what I can say is they do not make a habit of killing people. I won't say they are harmless, given these transformations, but death does not seem to handle into their repertoire.
They may not be exactly the same as our Primals back home, but it raises suspicion none the less. As well as our meaning for being here and heralded as saviors while given little thought for our own desires and needs outside of Lunatia.
no subject
[ Guess who didn't know about that. Regis sits there for a moment in complete silence. If Bahamut is dead, then what of the rest of the Astrals? Without the Six, Eos is lost. That much is true even though Bahamut was less of a deity and more of a devil in disguise. ]
Do I dare ask who this mutual acquaintance was? I dare not believe Ardyn's words when all he speaks now is lies.
As for the deities of this realm, I will reserve my judgment for now but I do not foresee this story ending well. Not with the former chancellor roaming about as freely as he does.
That I can promise you.
no subject
[ as for the mutual acquaintance: ]
A man by the name of Emet-Selch. As you cautioned me against Ardyn, I would caution you against his words as well. He is one of those selfsame Ascians.
Then you share my same concerns. While they have proven themselves harmless so far, powerful beings with such sway and the ability to make such changes over others concerns me greatly. To say nothing of how these 'blessings' are viewed.
