[ which is where she'll be about 15 minutes later. she's chosen a pair of black leggings with a pair of red shorts over them, and a red t-shirt. she's completed the ensemble by picking up her tan fur-lined jacket from norvrandt. ]

[ Which means he has a handful of minutes to fuss pointlessly over his hair – it's never not going to look swept up unless he decides to never style it – and figure out what kind of clothes to put on. The usual stuff? Some trendy pair of skinny jeans with a weird design and a plain tee he tucks into the front. None of that matters since he's wearing a coat, but if they get in somewhere warm...

When he spots her at the fountain, Prompto smiles and waves before shoving his hands into his pockets. ]

Hey. [ A pause. ] Ready to go? Figured we could pick a direction and just follow our feet.

[ thankfully, hair has never been much of an issue for her - outside of sanguis, when it's suddenly more like a mane. but she smiles at prompto, hopping off the edge of the fountain where she's sitting and raising a hand in greeting. ]

That sounds like a plan to me.

[ she taps the top of one foot against the ground before she points to the left. ]

Let's start there, then. I haven't had much chance to wander that way.

[ At least she doesn't have to see him during Iris, when his hair is melted with feathers and his freckles are glowing like someone stuck under a black light at a rave. Still, he tries to act cool and rocks on his feet just a little before tilting his head in the direction she points. If they went too far that way, it'd get them into the lower district, but Prompto's found some pretty neat places to explore so he doesn't complain. ]

Cool. [ His grin is relaxed. ] Did you wanna find some place to eat first or just get into trouble right away?

[ That's supposed to be a joke, but #yolo. ]

[ #yolo indeed. don't teach her that or she'll take it to heart.

at his question, though, her expression lights up a bit, and she laughs. she's heard a bit about the lower district, and while alphinaud may fuss, she still wants to see what it's like. ]

It's hard to get into trouble on an empty stomach, isn't it.

[ she's clearly teasing, but food is on her mind now. she starts to head out that way, only pausing to wait for prompto to follow. ]

Have any suggestions?

[ There are a lot of things he could teach her that would rock her world, but he isn't going to intentionally corrupt her ~~into being a millennial~~. ]

Uh, well... I haven't eaten at a lot of places around here so I guess whatever catches your eye?

[ Never mind the getting into trouble bit because they're bound to find something after they eat. Prompto reaches out to grab her hand, gently trying to steer her in a direction towards some place that might have dumplings or... Hm. ]

What's your favorite thing to eat?

[ he grabs her hand and that gives her... the smallest pause, staring down at it before she realizes if she stares too much it'll give away her confusion and she follows him, curling her fingers around his. ]

My favorite thing to eat is sweets, but I realize that does not a meal make.

[ she gives a little laugh. ]

I was fond of the dishes in Kugane - which I've learned here are from somewhere called Japan? So Japanese food. But I'll try anything; where I grew up, food was not considered particularly important and it was very bland.

[ Maybe he'd done the wrong thing? It's not like he doesn't catch that hesitation, as small as it is, but when she curls her fingers over his, he can't help smiling. So he hadn't messed up that bad after all. ]

I mean, you could totally make a meal out of sweets. Just gotta add some other stuff in there too.

[ Which would, in all honesty, probably disgust Ignis if he knew, but what he doesn't know won't hurt him. Prompto hums. ]

Not too familiar with Japanese food or wherever Kugane is, but I'm sure we can find something like that. Oh – let's go this way! [ He pulls her along, deciding to take a chance and duck into the closest place down an alley. ] If you don't like it, we can go somewhere else.

Oh, I've absolutely made a meal out of them, to my brother's chagrin.

[ or any responsible adult, really. when he tugs them towards a spot, she follows after a moment, looking at the name. ]

"Dairyu's Dumplings"? It sounds interesting enough. [ she chuckles after a moment. ]

Who's to say even if I do like it I won't want to try something else either?
